KOMODO - flores TRIP ITINERARY WITH Kelana boat
Indonesia’s Komodo National Park is a glorious realm of translucent seas, glittering reefs, and lush volcano-islands. It’s one of the top snorkeling spots on the planet, with a festival of marine life, from giant trevallies, groupers, and sweetlips to schools of tiny iridescent anthias. Drift snorkels bring you above exquisite coral gardens and to seamounts patrolled by rays and hawksbill turtles. Adding to our adventure are island hikes, including one to see the world-famed Komodo dragons in the wild. In the evenings, you’ll return to our mother ship for tropical sunsets, stargazing, and the delights of shipboard life.
EXAMPLE KOMODO TRIP IN 12 DAYS
DAY 1 : DENPASAR - LABUAN BAJO
As soon as you arrive at Labuan Bajo airport, our team will pick you up and take you to the seaside. Jump on the boat and the Cruise Director will welcome you on board and will show you to your cabins while the chef prepares a gourmet lunch.
This little fishing town at the western end of Flores in the Nusa Tenggara region of East Indonesia is the first step of our trip.
DAY 2 : LABUAN BAJO - SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur is a small island and a water sports place well known by divers for its captivating sites. Trekking is also really nice in the area with green hills near to the beach.
DAY 3 : SEBAYUR ISLAND - SIABA KECIL
Turtles can be contemplated here.
This wonderful mooring place with radiant water will bring you to the paradise side of Flores. Sunbathing and chilling on the pontoon are very appreciated as well.
DAY 4 : SIABA KECIL - GILI LAWA LAUT
The islands of Gili Lawa Laut, on the northeast tip of Komodo are another stunning location for anchoring with beautiful moon scape scenery, fantastic little bays and beaches and the best dive sites of the entire Komodo National Park.
DAY 5 : GILI LAWA LAUT - BANTA ISLAND
Gili Banta is the first of the island in the Komodo archipelago. This island provides a crescent shaped by that offers a beautiful anchorage from where you can jump into turquoise water and swim to the white sandy beach.
As always, dive sites await you. Banta Island is based in the northwest of Komodo. GPS point is a great spot to sea many species as barracuda, dogtooth tuna and sharks.
DAY 6 : BANTA ISLAND - MAKASSAR
Makassar reef or locally Karang Makassar, better known as Manta point is gorgeous. You cannot miss this stop on your trip. Snorkeling and swimming with mantas are magic.
DAY 7 : MAKASSAR - KOMODO NATIONAL PARK
Unesco world heritage site, Komodo island is famous for the local inhabitant’s giant lizard known as the Komodo dragon, we will go hiking and looking for the dragons and wild horses, water buffalo, wild boar and monkeys in spectacular scenery of Savannah and emerald coves. Climb up a local summit and one can enjoy a splendid panorama over the moon scape island of the Komodo Archipelago. And after we will take you to visit the famous Pink beach which is directly across the bay from komodo village has a unique pink red colored sand. The color of the sand is caused by pulverized fragments of the red coral species.
There are several fine snorkeling sites in this area and you will be guided by our experienced dive master onboard.
DAY 9 : HORSEHOE BAY - PADAR ISLAND
Have a stop in Padar Island in order to admire a spectacular sunset. Start hiking at the very end of the afternoon and go on the top. This way should take from 40 minutes to 1 hour.
DAY 11 : BATU BOLONG - KANAWA ISLAND
Before finishing our boat trip together, we will moor one last time on the island of Kanawa, located in the middle of the sea. Crystal clear water and white sandy beach, you will appreciate the calm of this island.
